      <image:title>Eric Ochoa - ERICK OCHOA</image:title>
<image:caption>Artist statement Through my work, mainly with the use of oils I like to capture the fleeting moments of everyday. Inspiration comes in many shapes and at odd moments; like the effect of light on mundane objects and the beauty of nature in it’s many forms. I often like to explore other subjects that allow me to connect with the viewer in a different way. Through the use of other materials such as pencil, enamel, acrylic, spray paint I am able to create images and stories. Some of these can be based on a memory, a feeling, a myth or a piece of literature. The intention of these works is to go from a visual experience to an emotional response. In the end it is the viewer who will dictate the limits with his own experience. My work allows me to keep dreaming and imagining in new and different ways…rewriting what we thought was not possible. In the endless roads of the imagination anything in art is possible.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Eric Ochoa</image:title>

Over the last several years larger cloudscapes in oils have been my primary focus. Capturing clouds moving across the canvas or sensing it will no doubt rain at any minute is a magical feeling. Pencil, charcoal and chalk have been a passion since I was a child. Life drawing and portraiture create a emotional angst inside of me. Perhaps it’s the anxiety of drawing the final stroke. Sculpting the human form in clay is similar to what I experience while working with figure drawing. There is nothing like standing back to see what the clay has allowed me to do. There are rarely figures in my paintings because I want the viewer to feel like it is their sky, their private place. The figures in my drawings and sculptures are mostly alone in their thoughts which to me is the only real freedom we have. A private place to explore and stretch is primary. It is your choice whether or not to share.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Artist statement I’ve loved oil painting since I was a kid in Laguna Beach watching my grandmother at her easel painting landscapes. Then there was my older brother with large canvases spread out on his bedroom floor working oil abstracts. While listening to jazz soundtracks on his Teak reel to reel, he would mask off certain sections and draw on others: text, and portraiture. A lucky professional break took me to Amsterdam for a few years, I was still pretty young. While there I lived a few blocks from the Van Gogh Museum and the nearby Stedlijk Museum; I was able to visit them weekly. Those were incredibly formative years. My studio practice is ongoing, a committed process. A mingling staying in the moment with a constant, fluid interaction with memory; travel experiences, readings, music, film, art and art history. Deciding to develop or work on an image, representational or abstract, I need to be fully engaged in its conception and unique process that can take weeks or even years. Using oil, charcoal, medium. Oil stick, spray paint etc. I flow between observation, imagination and chance, wanting my work to be welcoming of imperfections made up of aggressively varied mark-making.</image:caption>

Ernesto Loza.</image:caption>

So I portray fantasy, magic. I portray the archetypes as I perceive them: mighty monarchs from the realms of the imagination. From silence. Sacred beasts and witchcraft, pagan dances, rites of passage, men and women, the search for inner wisdom. Ernest Loza.</image:caption>

<image:caption>ARTIST STATEMENT When painting I rely on working directly from the image. Usually that is of people engaged with an activity around water. Sometimes these paintings are continued in the studio. With sculpture I don´t work as directly with a model but will develop a figurative theme from sketches. In my sculpture and painting my goal is to create a vital image of the human figure. Bio Peter Cole I was born in Berkeley, California in 1954. At the age of 13 my family and I lived in Sweden and I began to study art with the Wood Sculptor Allan Jaderos. Later returning to the United States I continued with my interest in art and finished High School in Los Angeles California. At the University of Utah I received a Bachelors degree with emphasis in Painting and Sculpture. In 1988 I finished a Masters degree in sculpture from Boston University. In 1988 I began a 18 month Fullbright grant to study the wooden folk art sculpture of Mexico. In the 1990´s I was an adjunct faculty member for ten years at the University of Utah. Currently I have been a faculty member for 10 years at the Universidad Mundial in La Paz Mexico. I teach Sculpture, drawing and painting. For me teaching serves as a complement to my art work.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Artist Statement The following statement will be invalidated as soon as I will start painting something else.. I never start painting with a preconceived idea of where this may be going. At the end, the result has to please only me. My work and my world of fantasy being appreciated by others reassures me that I’m not going insane. Painting is a relationship. Me, a canvas, a day or two sharing a space, vibes, colors. Guests join the party sometime. I can play and create, there are no restrictions, no rules and at the end a group picture is taken. But as with every other picture there will always be a more profound story hiding behind that final shot. Where my mind was wandering that day, my pain, my fear, my joy, but also my friends and family, and of course Mexico, where I live, making every one of my paintings spontaneous and original. That’s my statement and I stick to it. For now.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Artist statement As a native of Spain Luis González López attended Universidad Politécnica of Madrid studying architecture, graduating in 2014. It was during this time that he began to discover how these experiences would define his personal direction and unique style. During the summer of 2012, with a sketchbook in hand, he toured Southern Europe. Luis said “To this day I travel with a note-sketchbook. I later traveled and lived in South America and Asia for a combined two and a half years. Journeying to remote coastal communities and coming into close contact with indigenous people was life changing. Such as the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile, a place that preserved the heritage and culture of the ancient settlers. This area left a deep, lasting impression on me.” The influence of his travels and studies are evident in his work, forms of architectural plans, symbols of exogenous cultures (often indigenous) and the use of colors. “My girlfriend, now my wife, moved to Guanajuato in 2019. We were looking for a more sedentary lifestyle that would allow me to develop my artwork into a larger format, one that my previous life of constantly traveling wouldn’t allow.” Luis González Lopez is now in a new stage of research, an evolution of past experiences that are a vital part of an unknown horizon full of possibilities.</image:caption>

      <image:title>NEXT artist - ERICK OCHOA</image:title>
